Chapter 2

Goodbye America, Hello Korea!

Months have passed and it was time for Samantha's and Kairi's graduation. "Okay class! Stand in line for the ceremony! Remember where you stand when we practiced." informed the teacher. Everyone talked in the hallway, all dressed up in dresses and in tuxedos.
Samantha wore her hair sleek straight with heart shaped pastel pink earrings. Her dress was glittering black with a pink waist belt, tied with a ribbon, also wearing silver like heels with a diamond covering the front of her feet. Where's Kairi?, thought Samantha as she tapped her heels on the wall.
"Sam!" yelled a familiar voice. Samantha turned around and saw Kairi walking as fast as she could in her black jeweled satin heels. Kairi wore a short light green dress with a black spotted ribbon in the front,to compliment her eyes. Her hair was curly brown with a leaf like diamond clip on one of the side.
"Oh my gosh! Kairi you look amazing!" exclaimed Samantha.
"No you do!"
"Oh my gosh! We need to stop that now before we become girly girls again."
"Did you hear from your mom or dad yet?" asked Samantha.
"No...but I got a present from the mailbox saying it was from them..."
"Hey as long as the things expensive I would have said Hallelujah!"
They laughed, then Kairi looked around. "What?" asked Samantha as she wondered who she was looking for.
"He's not here?" Kairi asked as she kept looking.
Samantha's smile disappeared. "No...he probably stayed home because of me..."
"Sam...ignore him," informed Kairi.
"Yeah..." whispered Samantha as she looked down to the floor. She looked out the window towards the end of the street. The doors of the gymnasium opened and Samantha looked up, suddenly smiling, still ugly thoughts came into her mind, making the smile seem unreal. The line of over 100 students walked into the gym full of paparazzi parents in the bleachers.
With J.S...
Everyone was stretching in the dance studio, getting ready for their daily practice for the next show. The room full of dancers and the talks filled the room until WanSeung's dad came in and greeted, "Hello dancers and members of J.S!"
Everyone bowed their heads and greeted back, "Hello Mr.Song!"
"I have great news for you all," informed Mr.Song cheerfully, "Your will have a new manager so please treat him with respect."
"I wonder how this is going to turn out." joked Hyung-ki.
"What's his name?" asked YuHan.
"His name is..."started Mr.Song, but the phone rang, "Excuse me for one minute...Hello?"
"Hyuk Ji don't make it harder for our new manager on his first day here." explained Min-ki seriously.
"Not making any promises there." Hyuk Ji grinned. Then everyone laughed.
"It's true we are talking about Hyuk Ji." joked Hyung-ki.
"Okay guys!" started Mr.Song," since your manager is not going to be present until Monday, I will be playing the manager until he gets here. So show me what you got! 5! 6! 7! 8!"
After Samantha's graduation...
Samantha is now in her PJ's, putting the last of her stuff into one of the cardboard boxes. "Samantha! Time to eat dinner!" yelled her mom.
"Okay mommy!" answered back Samantha.
Then she dropped everything into her hands into the box and closed it up. While they were eating, her mom asked,
"So are you guys ready for tomorrow?"
"I'm a bit nervous tomorrow..." answered Samantha.
"I'm not! I'm excited as a hyper dog!" exclaimed Vincent. Everyone laughed.
"While everyone else talked, Kairi asked Sam, "Hey I heard they have uniforms in the high we're going to."
"Yeah it's common in parts of Korea." answered Samantha.
"Wow! That's cool!" exclaimed Kairi, "I hope we get cute outfits!"
Samantha laughed, "You would Kairi!"
"You know I would." laughed Kairi.
The time flew by and now it's time for them to go to sleep. Samantha tossed and turned in her bed, she couldn't sleep. So she got up and walked to the kitchen, but as soon as she got there she saw her dad sitting, reading a newspaper. He looked up and said,
"Oh sweetie you're up so early!"
"Yeah...I couldn't sleep..."
"Too nervous about tomorrow?"
"Yeah..."
"Come here and sit to your big old daddy!"
Samantha giggled and sat next to him."So tell me what's wrong?"
"It's just...I've never been to Korea...plus it's so different from here..."
"I know, it's going to get some time to get use to but you'll get use to it."
"But..."
"You're wondering if you don't get use to it?"
Samantha nodded. Her dad smiled,"It's going to be scary I know, I've been there too. You see people you don't know and you're afraid once school starts no one will talk to you. But luckily I taught you how to speak Korean or else you would have been screwed...don't tell your mom I said a bad word ok?"
"Ok daddy I won't." laughed Samantha.
"Okay so your problems are already solved with the language part of it. You have Kairi who luckily is going with us by her parent's approval, and you'll make friends I know it. With your bright, funny, and beautiful personality who wouldn't!"
"Oh stop daddy you're making me blush!"
"Well it's true! I'm your father so I have to say these kinds of things."
"Hey what's that suppose to mean?"
"I'm kidding! But it's the truth, my beautiful daughter has grown up to be a fine girl."
"Thanks daddy." smiled Samantha and hugged her dad.
"Your welcome," said her dad, "Now go to sleep before you get those bags under those pretty eyes."
"Ok goodnight daddy!"
"Goodnight."
Then with confidence, Samantha walked back to her room, ready for another day, ready for another life.
The next day...
Samantha stared out the window, the clear blue sky with the the sun shining down on her, it seemed so peaceful. Then a soft knock came and Samantha turned around to see Kairi there."Hey." greeted Kairi.
"Oh hey."
"You ready to go? The truck's outside?"
"Um yeah, let's go."answered Samantha and walked out. But before leaving she looked back at the empty room. "Goodbye," whispered Samantha then grabbed her last bag to the truck.
When she got out, she could see her neighbors bidding farewell. However, she couldn't see him there, not at all. Kairi walked up to her and patted her on the back. Samantha knew what that meant and ,without crying, she stood tall and walked to the car.
"Ready to go honey?" asked her mom.
"Yeah I am."
"Woohoo! Let's get this show on the road!" exclaimed Vincent as he ran inside the car. As the car drove, Samantha looked back at everyone who said goodbye, and looked back at one particular house that she would never again see. The neighborhood that was once filled with memories that she could never forget, or rather she wish she did forget. However, there was no turning back, she was about to start a new life, and the once clear view of the houses gew far, far from her reach and turned back in her seat.
